Meet the team of Medical Imaging Partnership MSK Radiologists, Regional Managers and Sonographers.
Radiologists
Dr Nick Spencer
MBChB, MRCP(1991), FRCR(1994)
Consultant since 1994
Nick is a clinical radiologist with 21 years consultant experience.
With sub-specialty interests in MSK and ENT Radiology, he is a core member
of both Head & Neck and Haematology Cancer MDT’s at Mid Yorkshire Hospitals.
He is also Medical Director, Clinical Governance at Medical Imaging Partnership, with significant service leadership and strategic development experience.
Nick has provided imaging support for a number of professional sports and athletes, and continues to perform and report a wide range of imaging, with emphasis on US and MRI.

Dr Lekha Chandrasekharan
MBBS DNB FRCR
Consultant since 2005
Dr Lekha Chandrasekharan has been a Consultant Radiologist at Queen Victoria
Hospital NHS Foundation (QVH) Trust since 2005.
She has special interests in MSK and head & neck Radiology, with interest in all aspects
including MRI, CT, Ultrasound and guided procedures including Joint Injections.
Dr Chandrasekharan practices at the QVH and McIndoe Surgical Centre.

Dr Leanne Singh
MBBS MSc DIC MRCS FRCR
Consultant since 2012
Dr Leanne Singh is a Consultant Radiologist at London North West Healthcare
NHS Trust subspecializing in musculoskeletal radiology. She is experienced in
interventional ultrasound, MRI, CT and X-ray reporting and is a member of the
British Society of Skeletal Radiologists, the premier organisation for
musculoskeletal radiologists in the UK and a special interest group of the Royal
College of Radiologists. Her teaching and training roles involve radiologists in
training,reporting radiographers (lectures post graduates at the University of Herts)
and Sonographers as well as Imperial College medical students on attachment.

Dr Chand Thorning
MBBS, MRCP, FRCR, PGCertMedEd
Consultant since 2010
Dr Chand Thorning has been a Consultant Radiologist at Surrey and Sussex NHS Trust
since February 2010, after completing an MRI fellowship at Imperial College Healthcare
NHS Trust.
Her sub-specialty interests are musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal radiology. She is
widely experienced in MRI, CT, X-ray reporting and ultrasound including ultrasound
guided injections and biopsies.
Since 2011, she has been a member of faculty for the INFOMED musculoskeletal ultrasound courses, held in London. She has also mentored on MRI spine and knee musculoskeletal reporting, taught ESPs and set up an MDT to teach on MRI and discuss cases.

Neuroradiologists
Dr Tina Good
MBChB FFRad FRCR PhD
Consultant since 1992
Dr Catriona Good is an expert Consultant Neuroradiologist at Hurstwood Park
Neurological Centre, part of the Brighton and Sussex Universities NHS Trust.
She also practices at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, the Spire Montefiore Hospital in
Hove, the Nuffield Hospital at Haywards Heath and the Royal Sussex County Hospital
in Brighton.

Dr Ram Vundavalli
MB BS MRCP FRCR EDiNR
Consultant since 2010
A Consultant Neuroradiologist since 2010, Dr Ram Vundavalli has expertise in all
aspects of brain and spine imaging. He practises at Hurstwood Park Neurological
Centre, part of the Brighton and Sussex Universities NHS Trust. He also practices at
Spire Gatwick Park Hospital, the Spire Montefiore Hospital in Hove, the Nuffield
Hospital at Haywards Heath and the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Dr Panos Koumellis
MSc MRCP FRCR
Consultant since 2011
Dr Panos Koumellis is a Consultant Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiologist
at Hurstwood Park Neurosciences Centre. Panos has an interest in neurovascular
diseases of the brain and spine and minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic
procedures in the degenerative spine. He works closely with the neurosurgical and
orthopaedic spinal team at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals.

Dr Marius Poitelea
MD PhD FRCR
Consultant since 2013
A Consultant Neuroradiologist (Diagnostic and Interventional) since 2013, Dr Marius
Poitelea practices at Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre, part of the Brighton and
Sussex Universities NHS Trust. Marius carried out his Neuroradiology training at the
National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London and
Kings College Hospital 2011-2013.

Regional Managers
Andy Hardy
BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography – 1995 – Sheffield Hallam University.
Andy qualified in 1995 and is an experienced MRI radiographer and radiology service
manager, with over 10 years of significant clinical and managerial experience in both the
NHS and Private Sector. He has had a long term interest in Clinical Governance and
retains a position on MIP’s Clinical Governance Board.
He still undertakes clinical duties in MRI whilst being responsible for developing and
delivering clinician led imaging services for the company, alongside private and NHS
Primary and Secondary care services.

Gillian Phillips
Gillian qualified as a radiographer at St Georges Hospital London after which she had
general radiography posts at St Bartholomew's, The London Clinic and Guys Hospital
plus a stint working in Australia. It was at Guy's Hospital that she joined their new MRI
department in the early years of this modality's development and went on to manage
MRI services across the south east for the last 20 years. She joined Medical Imaging
Partnership in 2011 and now leads their expanding clinical MRI team in the South.
Gillian is a member of MIPs clinical governance commitee and maintains weekly hands
on scanning input at all our MRI sites in the south.

Sonographers
James Dent

Sonographer and Regional Ultrasound Manager

James qualified as a Diagnostic Radiographer from the University of Bradford in 2000.
He moved to London and worked as a Radiographer at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS
Foundation trust where he obtained his Ultrasound PgD in 2003 and his MSc
Diagnostic Ultrasound in 2004. In 2007, he joined Siemens as an Applications
Specialist where he worked around the UK, as well as various countries including
Sweden, Germany and South Africa. He returned to the NHS full-time in 2010 as
the Lead MSK Sonographer at King’s College Hospital London. He also facilitates teaching at MSK study days and has taught various lectures to PgD Ultrasound students.

Nicki Delves

Clinical Lead Sonographer

Nicki has extensive ultrasound experience. Specialising in MSK ultrasound since 2009.
Working at BSUH until 2013 and subsequently as specialist MSK sonographer at RSCH,
Guildford undertaking full range of diagnostic ultrasound and guided injections.
Since 2012 she has been a member of faculty of tutors for St Luke’s Radiology in
Oxford and Bath, for BMUS and for the Society of Radiographers. She is an auditor
for a national AQP ultrasound provider.
